Project Background
Quintin Lake is photographer who undertook a 5 year project to walk and photograph the entire coastline of Britain, called 'The Perimeter.' He used Canon cameras and lenses to capture his incredible journey. Canon commissioned Forward to create a short film to explore the extraordinary ways Quintin has pushed himself and his Canon kit over the course of his 11,000 km trip.
START PROJECT‘We have used Forward for a number of years, across various video production and editing projects – and the end result is always superb. Tom and team go above and beyond from the word go and no stone is ever left unturned – from pre production to delivery and beyond.’
The Concept
The core concept of the film was ‘pushing the boundaries.’ Canon wanted to explore and emphasise the rugged reliability of their professional cameras and lenses through a story driven, documentary style piece of branded content.
We worked in conjunction with the team at Future Fusion to undertake a pre-interview with Quintin to fully understand his story. We then planned a day’s shoot with Quintin, meeting him on the North Norfolk coast as he undertook one of the last legs on his journey. Careful planning and amazing weather allowed us to capture some incredible footage of Quintin walking and photographing the beautiful North Norfolk coastline.
We then combined this footage with Quintin’s images and his own video footage in order to showcase the full scope of his incredible journey in a succinct, engaging and dramatic piece of video content.
The film was extremely well received and was shared across Canon’s social media and featured on their Canon Pro website.
