The Blind Photographer Wins Best Short Film at RTS East Awards 2018
Last May we were absolutely over the moon to win two Royal Television Society East Awards for our film about photographer Giles Duley, made as part of the first series of Wex Photo Video’s #MoreThanAnImage project.
The success of that series led to a new series of films being commissioned and produced over summer 2017, and we were delighted and honoured when both films in the new series were nominated for a total of 3 Royal Television Society East Awards.
The awards ceremony took place on the 15th of March in Norwich and we were once again up against some incredible work from some hugely talented companies and individuals from across the entire region. It was amazing to see the breadth of talent on show, not only from the professionals but also the students, who had their own awards ceremony for the first time this year.
We were once again absolutely delighted (and more than a little shocked) to take home the award for Best Short Film (for the second year in a row!) for The Blind Photographer our film about the truly inspiration Ian Treherne, exploring how he is slowly loosing his sight and hearing thanks to a rare genetic disorder.
As I said at the time, winning this award really does mean the world to us, as these films and the stories they tell represent the reason we do what we do – make pieces of work that engage and inspire others and hopefully helps make a difference in the world.
This new award further cements and confirms our commitment to making beautiful, story lead content for brands and we can’t wait to see what stories we’ll be telling over the coming months.
